While traditionally many parents and educators have encouraged high school graduates to "find a career" by going to college, not all students are wired to follow this route into a profession. There are many young people entering the workforce with intelligence and creativity that are better suited to "learn while they earn", working with their hands and developing a craft under the tutelage of mentors.
Unfortunately, for many who have a desire to enter a craft-related career, their paths are not as clear. Since they are not attending a university with its clearly spelled-out degree programs and accessible career counselors, how do they figure out what steps they should take to not only become a tradesman, but to grow in their careers?
Trade Up exists largely to help these individuals find a career path that suits their interests and needs as that unique youth.
