Graduating from a high school in Northern New Mexico, Monique wanted to stay close to home. After working with a major Los Alamos employer, she had the opportunity to join a commercial construction company with projects throughout New Mexico. She has worked in the construction business for a year and a half and absolutely loves it. She works on many different aspects of the business. She facilitates payroll and purchase orders. She also works in the office as well as out in the field, alongside the construction management team.
Monique wants to go back to college so she can become a project manager… Here is the best part, her employer will help pay for her education! As a project manager, she would be responsible for setting up and running projects, filling out the paperwork and hiring and scheduling union professionals. She says the company is very supportive of education and will get her to where she wants to be. Her favorite part of the job is learning new and different things all day and working with different people.
